HEAD Nepal is a small organization that has just started activities. Therefore we are happy about any kind of support to develop and extend our programme. To those who are interested in joining HEAD in one way or another, here are ways you can become involved:

Financial Support

Head Nepal has recently set up a residential programme to provide intensive training for children with disabilities. We require funds to keep this programme running, e.g. for

  1. Building a new residential center
  2. Furniture and other equipment
  3. Learning materials
  4. Food and accommodation for the children
  5. Clothes/dresses, and hygienic materials for the children
  6. Medications and treatment for the children

Sponsor the education of a child with disability

In the residential programme, currently 45 children with disabilities are being trained and they will be prepared for effective studies in regular mainstream education. This is a way for them to break the cycle of illiteracy and to open the gateway to a successful and bright future. With 50 dollars per month you ensure education, food and shelter for a child. 

Support for Mobile School

In order to educate more children with disabilities in rural communities in the Himalayas and to expand operations to other parts of the country, we are running and will continue to do so for coming years. Additional horses are needed both to carry teachers, tents, Braille kits and other supplies necessary to operate the mobile schools.

Donation of special Equipment

As special equipment for people with disabilities is very expensive, we would appreciate donation of new or used but functioning equipment such as

  1. Stationeries
  2. Brailler
  3. Braille Slate and Stylus
  4. White canes
  5. Magnifying devices
  6. Close Circuit Television (CCTV)
  7. Braille Printer, (Embosser)
  8. Laptops/Netbooks and screen reading software
  9. Recording devices and Audio players
  10. crutches
  11. Wheelchairs

Donation of General Items

We also highly appreciate the support of the following general items for the children:

  1. Warm blanket, mattress, bedsheet for the children
  2. Warm Jackets, sweaters, Shirts etc. for the children School uniform,
  3. bags shoes for the children
  4. Carpet for the rooms

Book Donations

We are mainly in need of books written in Nepali language, but English books, especially those with special effects such as pop-up books, touch-and-feel books, and books with sound or music, would be equally appreciated.

Volunteering

You can help us with training of children with disabilities or support the activities in the hostel, and also for any official work in the organization.
